Puerto Ayora is a small town in central Island of Santa Cruz and second biggest Island of the Galapagos Islands in Ecuador. Puerto Ayora is located on the south east shore of Santa Cruz Island. The town is named in honor of Isidro Ayora, an Ecuadorian president.
Also, Puerto Ayora is the most populous town in the Galapagos Islands, with more than 25,000 inhabitants. Puerto Ayora has the best developed infrastructure in the archipelago and the larger of the two Galápagos. There are schools, hotels, restaurants, clothing stores, hardware stores, grocery stores, marine stores, Bars, Disco, tourist shops and night clubs, etc.
